It's hard to say when Frostbite will be back to work on this again, but the previous release were not close to his original ideas enough in my opinion, so I made this. This 2023 version was released to make this one feel more like how it was supposed to be if finished by Frostbite, the creator of this great hack. He actually told me almost everything about his plans for the future update back in 2020, he said the true future relese were supposed to have these:
- Expanded Pokedex with Sinnoh Pokemon (+ Sylveon and without Sinnoh legendaries since there's no place for them in the hack).
- Have Sinnoh starters be the starters for the hack.
- Physical/Special split.
- Day/Night system.
- New evolution methods.
- New abilities.
- Have opposite gender protagonist play role in story.
- A few other features that are present in the yet another Fire Red Hack project.

- HM Masters whom you must find and beat to get the HMs, some of them will be well-hidden.
So I added them all and polished up it a little bit, I can't say it will be the same to what the creator planned, but it should be close enough to call it a better continuation than all the previous releases.
I have fixed these things:
(1)The titlescreen.
(2)You may not be able to leave Amethyst Gym.
(3)Some glitched tiles.
(4)Some Pokemon's broken movepool.

Thanks to Allen Ceedos and Olivia R.'s report, some more glitches were spotted and fixed. What's more, I realized I might have forgotten about fixing the cries, now the Pokemon should have their proper cries.

Ayee, just wanted to ask, have you added extra events or just completed the game by adding gym leaders and an E4? Also, there's no physical and special split, right?
ReplyDeleteNo, I did not add any extra events since the creator didn't say what would happen next, and there's no gen 4 pss split in this hack.

DeleteYou're supposed to go back home and talk to your brother. This fixed version is exactly the same as the original one except for the things I have added/fixed, so you can check out the playthrough of the official beta2, it should be helpful.
DeleteMan, i have a problem after i defeat 6 gym the ice type and going to polaris, i can't access the gym in polaris and gardian town plus i catch suicune, latios and latias in there respective cave, What should i do next? Damn i love this hack

Is it possible to complete the pokedex in this?
ReplyDeleteSorry to bother you here. Not sure where else to contact you. But can you look into liquid crystal. Its 99% complete but the battle tower and battle challenge in cianwood are very glitchy. Plus the final islands arent complete. It seems to be abandoned now.

ReplyDeleteYes, all non-legendary/mythical pokemon from generation IV are available including Buizel, I do remember Buizel can be found on Route 806 and Route 807(The part around the Tundra Warehouse) while surfing.

ReplyDeleteI cann't find the surf hm master and have gone all the way and beaten grant the ground leader and haven't seen the flash or rock smash hm master either. Where are these masters

Nevermind! I explored through the first floor of the cave following the groud gym without flash and the 2nd floor wasn't dark so I didn't need it. Found surf there. I thnk flash master is in the previous forest using surf. Still have no idea about rock smash.
ReplyDeleteHey there! I have been playing the 2023 update on my 3DS but am not experiencing the day&night cycle? I know I updated the file properly bc I have the Gen4 starters now - any idea what could be wrong? The ROM save type is Macronix with the RTC, maybe I need to save it as Sanyo RTC?
ReplyDeleteHello hacksrepairman, thank you for fixing this game, it's quite enjoyable. Are you also able to fix the pokemon cries and the area displayed on Pokedex? Every pokemon past gen 3 is having a Bulbasaur cry. And the area of pokemon on Pokedex is still the Kanto region. If not could you share the disassembly code or the symbol file on GitHub? That way people can contribute. I would love to help. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI think it's obvious but the screams of the Sinnoh pokemons are those of Bulbasaur (I think the game itself gives them that scream as a placeholder since they haven't been programmed). Knowing this, I was wondering if there is a way to make the screams sound like they should sound (I know you mostly only deal with bug fixes, glitches and continuing hacks but I would be very excited to see if it can be done or not) .
